If you grew up in Nanticoke, you’ve got stories to tell. We want to hear them
and we’d love to have you share your memories with others.
The Nanticoke Historical Society proudly announces an opportunity for present and former residents to share their great memories of Nanticoke.
What’s your favorite memory of growing up in our great city? Do you have an item of historic memorabilia that immediately connects to your story?
We want to hear from you. Here’s why.
We are planning a program unique to our favorite city.
We invite all present and past residents of Nanticoke to join us at our offices in the Samantha Mill House, 465 East Main Street, next to the Mill Memorial Library.
For example, the inaugural event will focus on the theme of "Parades."
We’ve had some memorable parades in Nanticoke celebrating our citizens, events, and historically important memorabilia.
Tania Gronkowski, a valued society member, will grace the event as the first presenter.
If you’ve marched in one of these parades, helped organize or orchestrate the festivities, or maybe you were honored by riding in an open vehicle, share what it was like. Hey, if you enjoyed the spectacle from the sidelines, we welcome you to share what that was like.
Let us know what the parade celebrated, who you remember being in the parade, and why it made an impression on you.
Your memories and stories will help others remember similar events or let them know how great our city really was and is.
If you are interested in participating or simply attending this tapestry of local history, Please contact us via email at NHS63@comcast.net or call us at 570-258-1367 by July 9. Thank you for your consideration.

A few life long residents of the city realized that if certain parts of Nanticoke's history weren't preserved they would be lost forever. This group then began a quest to obtain and preserve any and all items which served as a link to Nanticoke's history.
